Login problems and AOL browsers Print E-mail

We have recently identified a problem for registered members logging-in to this site while using an AOL browser.

If you use AOL you may find that your login is not retained when you move from the Home page to the Family Tree pages.

This is a well researched issue with AOL browsers and affects many web sites. Considerable discussion can be found by "Googling" somthing like "AOL browser problem"

Unfortunately at present there seems to be only one solution, DON'T USE THE AOL BROWSER

You can use a different browser (Internet Explorer, Firefox, Opera, etc) WITHOUT finding a whole new Internet Service Provider (ISP). Follow these instructions.

Afer you start up your connection with AOL, minimize the AOL browser and open IE:
On the Start menu on your computer, under Programs look for Internet Explorer or check your desktop for an IE icon.

  OR

If you can't find IE, try the following:

    a) Click on the Start menu.

    b) Click on the Run command.

    c) Enter iexplore.exe in the text box and click OK.

IMPORTANT INFORMATION
Login Changes

Changes to our site require new processes for registration and login. It is no longer necessary to login to see general information, only to access information about living relatives in the Family tree.

Therefore the login and registration functions have been moved to those pages.

To login, select 'Family Tree' from the top menu, then look for the 'Login' text near the top right-hand corner of the page.
